Comprehensive Stroke Center

The Emergency Department is the entry point to our Stroke Program. Methodist Hospital holds a Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification from independent rating agency DNV GL and is designated by Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services (LAC/EMS) as one of 18 comprehensive stroke centers serving the region. This expertise allows victims of stroke, who require immediate attention, to receive rapid care which greatly improves the opportunity for a successful patient outcome.

Designated Heart Attack Receiving Center

Methodist Hospital is also designated by LAC/EMS as a dedicated heart attack, or STEMI, receiving center for diagnosing and quickly treating heart attack patients. Our highly qualified Chest Pain Team is available 24 hours a day to evaluate and relieve chest pain quickly. Whether you are having a heart attack or chest pain, our team is ready to perform a thorough examination and help you make critical changes that give patients a second chance at life.
